ResponsibilitiesThe person in this position has the responsibility of performing and overseeing our research programs in toxicity of nanoparticles and providing guidance to our researchers and others in understanding technical issues, relationships between nanotechnology and various industrial areas. Will be responsible for research lab, staff, budget, research grant applications, and other responsibilities as directed by CEO. Will have the technical responsibility for accurate analysis of literature searches as well as estimating applications of technical breakthroughs to specific areas of industry. This person will also have some responsibility for technical content of presentations and programs for public consumption and articles for our newsletter. Requirements

The person in this position has the responsibility of generating grant applications for the Institute. Since grants will be our primary source os funding, this person is key to our success. This person will have some help from some of our Directors that have some background in grant writing, but will pretty much have to carry the load.
The person in this position has the responsibility of coordinating and creating materials for various educational applications related to elementary and secondary children and youth. The objective is to engage youth in science and math and in particular, nanoscience by hands-on and other interest-generating methods. These are intended to be used in at least two scenarios: 1) special programs that are delivered to schools in short or one-time visits, and 2) as modules for schools to integrate into their regular curriculum.
This person will work closely with our educational partners and members to create the educational materials.
The person in this position has the responsibility of coordinating and creating materials for various educational programs. This person works closely with the Educational Materials Developer to produce programs that can engage and motivate children and youth
The person in this position has the responsibility of searching, reviewing, and collecting nanotechnology information as it relates to industrial trends, breakthroughs, and applications to regional industries, job trends and training, and future educational needs. Big Job! And very important. This person must have a natural curiosity about technology and some background in it. However, much of the work beyond researching and cataloging information lies in working with IT people to make it retrievable, communications people to make it useful to newsletter readers, and educational people to make it relevant to people of all ages and needs. The person in this position has the responsibility of printing and mailing (or emailing) the Institute’s newsletter approximately 4 times a year. All costs of publication are funded except the publisher’s time.until we acquire funding for operations.

The person in this position has the responsibility of coordinating and editing the newsletter for the Institute. This periodical will have to be timely and useful to its readers to be effective. To that end, the editor will look to the other staff to provide material content. The editor will have the chief responsibility of the “look and feel” of the newsletter. All costs of publication are funded except the editor’s time.
The person in this position has the responsibility of developing our database that will be one of our primary services to regional entities -- businesses and educational institutions. The database will provide collections of articles, links to articles and announcements, and other information useful to those wanting to keep in touch with nanotechnology trends and specific applications. This person will work closely with the Nanotechnology Analyst who will provide materials and guidance on both contents and customers of the database.
Currently not funded, but we are seeking funding for at least part of this job.
The person in this position has the responsibility of coordinating and creating the internet-based infrastructure for the Institute. Since we do not have a facility, the virtual office concept must be implemented via the internet. This will include email and document exchange and collaboration, voting as minimal capabilities which must be secure along with an Internet portal to the outside world. This portal must provide interactive communications with those interested in and wanting our help and services.
