We have begun to publish, for our members, a quarterly* newsletter that will contain various types of articles that will not only appeal to members of all types, but will provide useful information regarding nanoscience breakthroughs, trends, regional opportunities, and more. If you would like to suscribe to our newsletter, please send an email to info@rinteknano.com with a subject line of “newsletter” and we will add you to our distribution. We prefer to email them for obvious reasons, however, we will also be building a mailing list as well.

The newsletter is geared to regional industry clusters and educational institutions, but will also provide information for teachers in elementary and high schools to use or at least provoke some ideas.

Our first issue is the Summer 2006 issue. It is being made available to anyone who would like a copy. We have it here for downloading as a PDF file. We encourage you to share it with others who may be interested.

Topics covered in this or future issues include subjects such as:

• An introduction to nanotechnology.
• Why should I be concerned about nanotechnology transforming my company?
• What will future jobs be like, and why should I take math and science?
• Nanotechnology -- Self-assembled robots -- really?
• How to make use of the University of Minnesota’s Remote Access program to analyze materials and processes.
• What is some of the latest thinking about the dangers of nanotechnology and nanoparticles specifically.
• Why would a centralized center for nanotechnology education and resource connection be important in SE Minnesota?
• What industries in our region are likely to be impacted by nanotechnology first? How soon?

These are tentative and are listed here to give you a flavor of what is coming.  After publication, back issues of newsletters will be available on line to be searched.

*With our current limited resources and a very busy schedule in the months of November 06- Feb 07, we are foregoing the winter newsletter. However, we plan to publish a Spring 07 newsletter. We are also considering more than one newsletter to meet needs of different areas such as education, industry clusters, and research. While we would like to meet every need immediately, that is not possible, so over the next few months, we will be prioritizing areas and means of meeting needs in them.
